Love Local Week at the Ashland Food Co-op

The Ashland Food Co-op (AFC) celebrates Rogue Valley agriculture, artisan food and specialty products with Love Local Week, September 11-20.

Beginning Friday, September 11, the Ashland Food Co-op will feature local producers for conversation and tastings every day at the Culinary Kiosk. Local artisans include Komboona Skin Care, Crater Lake Cellars, Bright Earth Foods, Pickled Planet, Applegate Artisan Bread, Rogue Creamery, Tonton’s Artisan Affections, and many more. Other events are scheduled as well. Join BeeGirl, a local nonprofit committed to bee conservation and education, on Saturday, September 12, from 10am-1pm, for a bee-centric conversation with an actual beehive.

Registration is still open for the local centric cooking class, Cook Today, Eat All Week. With a selection of local foods from the Rogue Valley, Chef Kristen Lyon will demonstrate how to spend one afternoon cooking and preparing vegetables, stocks, and sauces that will be the base of 4-5 meals for the week ahead. The Green Chile Roasting will take place on Saturday, September 19, from 11am-2pm. Fry Family Farm will supply and roast their own chiles on site. Tastings will be available as well as packaged roasted chiles for purchase in the store.
