32nd Annual Medford Cruise Week

The 32nd Annual Medford Cruise week will kick off on June 10 and runs through June 17. This year’s event promises to be something special with end of the week events held for the second year in Fichtner Mainwaring Park on Stewart Avenue.

 

The first event held June 10 and 11 with the Star Collision Centers - Bash to the Future 5 Drift Event from11:00 am to 7:00 pm at the Jackson County Sports Park in Eagle Point. Known as the largest Drift event in the Northwest, drifters from all over the United States will take over the Cart Track to show their skills in a sport made popular by the Fast and the Furious movie franchise. Cost is $15 for spectator, $10 for Pit Pass to get an up-close look at the fastest growing segment in motorsports.

Next the Medford Cruise has four Show-n-Shines in four days. These events are free to attend!  

If you want to show your ride, it’s only $5 that you pay when you arrive. Each night has a featured brand of car selection known as a mark. Other people proud of their rides that are not the evening mark can also show at these events and there are no year restrictions for the mark or other vehicles during these shows. All of these shows begin at 5:30 pm and end at 7:30 pm. Show Cars can begin arriving for placement at 4:00 pm. Awards and trophies are given at each one.

Here is a list of those shows:

1.    The Scott Valley Bank Chevy (Mark) Show held on Tuesday, June 13 at Lava Lanes 2980 Crater Lake Hwy Medford – event also has the Medford Cruise Karaoke Contest from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

2.    The Northwest Autohaus Sports Cars (Mark) Show held on Wednesday, June 14 at Rogue Credit Union South Medford at 1370 Center Drive in Medford. 

3.    The Lithia Superstore MOPAR (Mark) Show held on Thursday, June 15 at the Lithia Superstore at 4540 Grumman Drive in Medford.

4.    The Pacific Power Ford and Hot Rod (Mark) Show held on Friday, June 16 at Fichtner Mainwaring Park at 334 Holmes Avenue just off Steward Avenue in Medford. This event is running at the same time as the Hot Rod Car event.

From there the Medford Cruise will fill the valley with show-n-shines, concerts, drags, drive-in movie, a poker run and the big downtown cruise.

Here are Friday, June 16 events:

1.    Southern Oregon Signs Poker Run, aka Heritage Tour from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. We start at Punky’s Diner in the Medford Center. This year the tour will take us up Highway 66 to Green Springs. We will follow the Applegate Trail part of the way. We will visit Green Springs Inn, Howard Prairie Resort while enjoying a beautiful drive through the high mountain lakes. We will then drop back into the Valley and parade the cars for the Veterans at the VA Domiciliary. The first hand is free with Registration ($5 for extra hands). Anyone in any vehicle is invited to participate.

2.    Friday Registration and packet pickup for Saturdays Show-n-Shines are at Punky’s Diner in the Medford Center from 7:00 am to 10:00 am and at Fichtner Mainwaring Park from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm.  

3.    The City of Medford Concert in the Park featuring live music of the 50’s and 60’s with the East Main Band and Sound Stage Review. This FREE to attend concert is at Fichtner Mainwaring Park and begins at 7:30 pm.

4.    The Lava Lanes Stoplight Drags for ’79 & Older starts at 5:00 pm and will run until all drags are completed. $40 to drag (check in begins at 3:00 pm). $20 to attend, kids 8 -12 are just $5 and kids 7 and under are free to attend. Held at Champion Raceway in the Jackson County Sports Park.

Saturday, June 17 events include:

1.    Registration and packet pick up from 7-10 am at Fichtner Mainwaring Park in Medford.

2.    The Ed’s Point S Tire and Auto Service ’79 & Older Show-n-Shine held at Fichtner Mainwaring Park, from 10 am to 4:00 pm. $50 to show (includes registration in the downtown cruise) and is FREE to attend.  

3.    The Travel Medford ’80 & Newer Show-n-Shine held at Fichtner Mainwaring Park from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. $30 to show, includes a t-shirt and is FREE to attend. This is where everyone gets to show. Motorcycles, cars, boats, trucks, SUV’s and even bicycles. If you love your ride this is where you want to show your stuff. Trophies will be awarded.

4.    The Rogue Credit Union Downtown Cruise. This is the foundation event that started 32 years ago. The ’79 and older show cars will circle downtown Medford to the thrill of kids and kiddos at heart. This event is from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and is FREE to attend. $50 to cruise your classic. For those just wanting to cruise they can come to Heritage Motors at 419 N. Central Avenue from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.  Then place your pass in your windshield and go back in time for a few hours of amazing fun.

5.    The Lava Lanes Moonlight Drags are ’Open to all years. These Drags start at 8:00 pm and go until all drags are completed.  $40 to drag, $20 to attend, kids 8 -12 are just $5 and kids 7 and under are free at Champion Raceway in the Jackson County Sports Park.

6.    The Rogue Credit Union/Medford Parks & Rec Movie in the Park, featuring the 1978 American film classic “Grease”. FREE to attend and you can sit on the lawn or enjoy the show from your car in classic drive-in style.
